Help and hope for low-income families
Faith Community Homes is now FamilyForward!
New name, same mission:
Strengthening northwest suburban families to achieve financial stability and independence through mentoring, rental assistance and support services.
Who We Are
FamilyForward is a charitable, nonprofit 501(c)3 organization governed by a volunteer board of directors and staffed by professionals knowledgeable in the areas of poverty, housing and social services. Our staff, volunteers and supporters are passionate about empowering low-income families to reach for their dreams, create stable households and a better life, and contribute to a stronger community in the process.
How We Help Families
The two main pillars of our two-year program are rent subsidy and mentoring. In addition to providing financial assistance, trained volunteer mentors guide parents as they develop the skills, confidence and financial footing they need to build a brighter future for their families. Additional support includes professional case management.
How Your Donations Help
Your donations enable struggling families to achieve a secure living situation through rent subsidies, assistance with expenses including child care and parental education, and other types of financial help. Donations of gift cards for food or gas, as well as pro bono services, are also very helpful as families struggle to meet basic needs.

“I had lost my way and couldn’t find it, but now I feel like I found it through your help….I have been provided the tools to keep helping myself….I now have more confidence and faith that I will keep doing better and will be able to stand on my own two feet.”
“You helped me find an apartment and all the furniture…and get it ready to be our new home. You helped my husband find work and found a car for him….We have been able to save some money and my hope is to start school to be a nurse.”
“Our mentors are very kind, caring and helpful….we feel they will be instrumental toward our long-term success….All of these good things…are blessings coming through FCH and you—and we are grateful….God bless you.”
