YOUR FINANCIAL SUPPORT IS ESSENTIAL
Together, we are helping families overcome financial and personal challenges
Low-income families are often faced with spending 50% or more of their income on housing. With a guideline that no more than 30% of a family’s income should go toward housing, FamilyForward works to fill the gap for qualified families by paying a portion of housing costs (rent) for two years.
This critical financial support works in tandem with the other pillar of the FamilyForward program: Mentoring. Two trained volunteer mentors guide parents as they learn solid financial principles and gain crucial career-advancement and life skills.

How Your Donations Help
More families need our help than ever before. Financial donations are primarily used to subsidize rent payments of the families served by FamilyForward.
Donations may also be used for financial assistance including, but not limited to, childcare, educational costs for parents working to improve their employment skills, and case management assistance for families in the program.
Why Rent Assistance Is So Critically Important
Rent for a modest apartment in our community ranges from $1,000 to $1,300 per month. Following the “30%-toward-rent” guideline, this means a family must earn at least $40,800 per year, or $3,400 per month, to be able to afford a single-bedroom apartment in our community. Families coming to FamilyForward often have incomes of less than $30,000 per year when they begin our program.
Why Donate?
Donations go to families right here in your community.
You are helping local families become financially stable and productive.
You are helping the children in these families have a healthier home life.
You are strengthening your own community.
You can feel good that you are helping a neighbor in great need.
FamilyForward is a gold-level GuideStar participant, demonstrating our commitment to transparency.
Thank You
With your support, FamilyForward helps low-income families in Arlington Heights, Palatine and surrounding areas achieve a stable and secure living situation. Donations such as yours enable families to live confidently in the hope of a brighter future. Here are a few examples:
-
A single mother has an apartment without fear of eviction and her children attend a school nearby.
-
A couple with two children are able to increase their family income, get out of debt and pay all their bills without fear of being homeless.
-
A family is able to purchase a home five years after finishing our program because they have learned to budget and manage their finances.
Your donation goes a long way to making these kinds of things happen. Thank you.
